Many people struggle with variety and the decision making associated with their swim workouts so we have decided to provide Free Swimming Sets as a way to help you decide which workout to do today.
In addition, our Free Swimming Sets are effective, time efficient sessions that you can fit around your busy day or week. Written by our highly qualified experienced coaches here at Caloundra Aquatic Lifestyle Centre, there are workouts to suit both the time you have, skill level and the intensity you want to work at.
Swim Sets are available for 1 kilometre, 2 kilometres or 3 kilometres in length including warm up and cool down, with a choice between easy and hard intensities. We also recommend you do a Time Trial every 4-6 weeks as part of your plan as it is a great way to gauge your fitness and progress.
Each session is designed to maximise your workout time and produce results you are after, whichever one you pick.
Before starting one of our programs, we recommend you perform this small breathing test: Stand in the water facing the edge of the pool or lane rope. Place your outstretched hands palm down on the edge or lane rope. Whilst holding on, take a breath, bend at the waist and submerge your face. Blow all the air out of your lungs, turn your head to the side laying your ear on the water, breathe in and repeat. If you can repeat this small exercise ten (10) times comfortably you are ready to undertake one of our Free Swim Sets.
